MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS

You can start your adventure alone or with your family and choose a relaxing walk or a more technical hike with a network of around forty trails. The grandeur of the landscapes, the diversity of the panoramas, the richness of the natural and built, rural and mountain heritage are all assets to marvel, relax and breathe fresh air. We will be happy to inform you about the different routes.

Here it is such a paradise for the bikers that in one of a famous french periodical, “VTT Magazine” devotes more than 11 pages to all the riches offered by Nice countryside in terms of loops and marked trails for mountain biking and reveals in particular all the riches offered by the hilly landscape of Levens, not far away from our campsite.

Discover below the mountain bike itineraries starting from Peillon.

HIKES

The Valley of the Pays du Paillon abounds with paths lined with olive trees and cypresses where it is good to walk. Starting from Peillon, a multitude of walks are offered to you, the most famous of which is the circuit of the Lourquière.
For the more adventurous it will also be possible to reach Peillon in Monaco by beautiful footpaths where the scents of thyme and rosemary invite you to party.

THE WATERFALL AND THE SWIMMING SPOT IN THE LAUNE DU REDEBRAU, THE PLANFAE BROOK, THE CHERRY BRIDGE

At 20 minutes by car from the campsite and then a little walk, the generous nature of the Paillon valley delivers its marvellous turquoise coloured basins and its waterfalls which offer the possibility to bathe in fresh and clear water.
The vegetation is luxuriant and offers a beautiful landscape for this natural swimming pool.
Note: not far away the valley of Rabebraus canyoning for the more experienced.

PEILLON VILLAGE LE VIEUX (Old Perched village)

A perched village par excellence, a visit to the site is a must. You can get there on foot or by car directly from the campsite. The village has kept a medieval character with its houses with stone facades, its cobbled streets with many arches. The main historical monuments are the fountain of the Portal square, the church of the Transfiguration nestled at the top of the village and built on the former keep of the castle, the chapel of the White Penitents whose choir is decorated with magnificent frescoes. Very good restaurants will welcome you at the end of this beautiful walk, including the Auberge de la Madonne, formerly a Michelin starred restaurant, or the restaurant Les Plaisirs which was once the building where the actor Claude Brasseur lived (famous French actor)

LE TRAIN DES MERVEILLES (THE TRAIN OF WONDERS): FREE GUIDED TOURS

The Train des Merveilles runs several times a day between Nice and Tende via Peillon to allow us to go on a getaway in the hinterland of Nice. Aboard this train, we have the pleasure of discovering the valleys of Paillon, Bévéra and Roya and the charming villages that punctuate the landscape, L’Escarène, Sospel, Breil-sur-Roya, Saorge… in turn perched on a rocky spur or nestled at the bottom of the valley.

The Train des Merveilles runs all year round every day, but the tour guide is present to comment on the entire route:
– Weekends and public holidays in May (except 1st May) and October
– Every day from June 1st to September 30th

We’ll be happy to explain everything to you at the campsite.

THE MARKETS

The markets of the French Riviera produce the flavours and scents of Provence all year round.
Come and stroll among these multicoloured tents and canopies, treat yourself to a beautiful bouquet and finish your stroll by sipping an aperitif on one of the terraces of the nearby country bistro.

The market of Peillon Sainte Thècle is held every Sunday morning on the Place de l’Hotel de Ville but the French Riviera is full of pretty markets, both large and small, with local craftsmen and producers who will gladly share their weekly harvest. There are also some lovely night markets by the sea which are not to be missed.

Here is a link to know the dates of the main markets but the list is far from being exhaustive:
