Rally Monaco: an event not to be missed!
The Rallye Monte-Carlo is a prestigious and very selective event, rich in an almost century-old history, drawing its legendary reputation from a history of memorable achievements. Every year, January marks the official kick-off from the iconic Place du Casino in Monaco for this competition, considered the jewel of the FIA World Rally Championship (World Rally Championship).
Created in 1911 by the leaders of the club Sport Automobile and Vélocipédique de Monaco, this event initially aimed to attract a wealthy clientele on the Rock, as part of the rivalry with Nice, its Carnival and casinos. The choice of January was also intended to demonstrate the mild climate of Monaco.
What path do you expect for this 2024 edition?
The 2024 edition of Rallye Monte Carlo promises to be a modern epic, continuing the tradition of this legendary race while offering new challenges to drivers and their teams. This year, the course will include 14 passes to cross and 17 specials spread over 5 French departments, thus putting competitors to the challenge of endurance, precision and adaptability…. Living this thrilling experience at the campsite exit near Monaco is unique!
Since the start of the race, the route will offer winding roads surrounded by spectacular scenery from the beginning. Key milestones such as the Col de Turini will represent crucial moments when pilots will have to make strategic decisions quickly in the face of unpredictable weather conditions. The diversity of the course, from dry asphalt to snow, ice and even mud, will require instant adaptability and flawless concentration. The route of the circuit passes very close to Peillon just a few minutes from our campsite near Monaco.
Finally, the long-awaited finish in Monaco will be the scene of an ultimate confrontation on an asphalt often slippery due to the nocturnal marine humidity. Every second lost or won during this last sprint could change the final ranking.
This edition promises an extremely technical course that will test not only the technical skills of the drivers, but also their ability to anticipate and respond to the constant changes encountered throughout the journey.
